(March 8, 2024) - McGuireWoods LLP has hired former federal prosecutors Michael Elliott and Mindy Sauter as partners.
The duo, who worked at U.S. attorney offices in Texas before co-founding Elliott Sauter PLLC in 2017, will operate from McGuireWoods' Dallas office and focus on regulatory and compliance matters in the health care sector, the firm said in a March 6 statement.
From 2008 to 2015, Elliott was an assistant U.S. attorney for the Northern and Southern districts of Texas. He led a Medicare Fraud Strike Force team and served as coordinator of criminal health care fraud investigations during his stint for the federal government, according to the statement.
As an assistant U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Texas from 2011 to 2015, Sauter oversaw cases related to home health care and hospice fraud, Food and Drug Administration investigations, and medical equipment and pharmaceuticals. She also prosecuted public corruption cases and other white-collar crimes.
McGuireWoods has also added the new partners' colleague Chris Quinlan as a counsel to its Dallas office. Before a seven-year stint at Elliott Saunter, Quinlan was an associate at Haynes and Boone LLP from 2013 to 2016. His practice includes advising health care companies on regulatory and transactional matters.
